Yes, the consequent (THEN clause) may or may not be true but it does not necessarily follow from the antecedent (IF clause)so the entire IF-THEN proposition as a whole is false. And, as I pointed out in post 139 the two statements that you claim are contradictory are only so if that proposition is true.
The rest of your post seems to be in agreement with the last paragraph from my post 139.
