I've never said that Nic intended this interpretation, only that it's a valid one, and because it's valid it leads to contradiction. Therefore, there is something wrong about the premises.
Yes, that is a logical conclusion, but not the only option, and it does not lead to any contradiction.
We reject that option because it is immoral, not because it is illogical, and we go on to look for a more moral option.
I have suggested that accepting a less than ideal situation in the present and dealing with the problems as best we can is a more moral option.
